Synthesized stone: The new stone stronger than marble
A few years ago, a material like sintered stone was something unthinkable.Today, however, Neolith's sintered stone is the material that is changing the world of decorative surfaces, and has become indispensable in today's architecture.
What is synthesized stone?
It is a synthesized stone created by the company Neolith, presented as an evolution of traditional ceramics and porcelain, due to its formats and physical-mechanical characteristics. This new architectural material has a composition and manufacturing process that give it extremely positive mechanical characteristics and transform it into a highly versatile technical solution. That is, it is a product that can be used indoors and outdoors, whether on pavements, countertops, walls, coatings and even on furniture.
Being a synthesized stone it has a 100% natural composition based on three groups of elements:
- Minerals from granite: quartz and feldspate that give hardness and strength to the product.
- Minerals from glass and silica that provide chemical stability.
- Natural oxides that give chromatic properties.
Its main properties
It is 100% natural, without synthetic resins, composed largely of recycled raw materials. Being thus an environmentally friendly material.
It is scratch and abrasion resistant due to the hardness of the surface of this material.
It can be placed both indoors and outdoors, due to its natural composition it does not become altered in its coloration being exposed to high temperatures. Likewise, it does not burn when in contact with fire.
It is easy to clean, resisting cleaning chemical agents, hygienic, easy to disinfect and suitable to have contact with food by not released harmful substances.
A material characterized by its thicknesses
It is characterized by its variety of thicknesses, ranging from 3-20mm, depending on the function it will have. 3 mm boards can be used for interior cladding or furniture; 6 mm for interior, exterior or exterior cladding (ventilated facades); the 12 mm and 20 mm is reserved for the most demanding applications of the product such as kitchen countertops.
It is a very light material, weighing 7 kg/m2 in the 3 mm and 30 kg/m2 table in the 12 mm table.
Large formats, greater uniformity
The synthesized stone can be found in three formats, 3200 x 1500, 3200 x 1600 and 3600 x 1200 mm. This allows for uniform spaces and greater spatial continuity, as the number of joints decreases. It can also be found in tile formats from 1500 to 300 mm.
Multiple finishes of your choice
This material can be found in different finishes, from rough textures with relief to glossy polishes with linear reflections. It will all depend on your taste and choice. We bring you a list of the finishes offered by the Brand of Neolith:
- Satin: Completely matte finish. Highly resistant and ideal for commercial applications.
- Silk: Matte finish with a light layer of enamel that provides a subtle shine and a pleasant softness to the touch, easy to clean.
- Riverwashed: Finish with rough texture and high relief for surfaces that evoke sensations to the touch.
- Natural Honed: A velvety texture typical of natural stones: smooth, soft, without shine and completely matte.
- Decor Polished: Decor Polished gives a perfectly linear reflection, providing depth and elegance.
- Nanotech Polished: It has a high brightness level.
In short, there is a lot of variety about it, just find the most conducive alternative to the environment in which you want to use it! If you have any doubts about it or would like to apply this material in your reform, do not hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to advise you.
