10 tricks for a minipiso!

A small, well decorated floor can double its surface. The secret to getting it? Stay with the essential, use the color well and take advantage of each corner. From Acertus, we teach you 10 tricks for a minipiso through this rehabilitation of a house of 60 m2. An original parquet, large windows, high ceilings … It directs attention to how good it is and thus the disroutes of other less positive aspects. Are you going to miss it?
1. Unify spaces and you will win!
Many old floors are excessively compartmentalized. If you have several rooms, and they are very small, consider throw a septum. Having fewer stays, but more spacious, will give you more sense of space.
In the project of this old farmhouse, over 150 years, we opted to share uses and make better use of space. The hallway makes hall and in turn a wardrobe, connected in a linear way with the kitchen, opens to the living room from which you go to the terrace. All in just 60 m2
2. With a sliding, 1 m2 more
Opting for sliding doors when faced with space of reduced size, is a sure success. You'll get versatile spaces with a single gesture. This time we use this system, even for the balcony door with exit to the outside. Its design and functionality makes it a perfect option to gain useful meters and enjoy wider spaces.
3. The white, your ally
The white color has the capacity to grow the environments, because it "separates" the walls and gives luminosity. In this project a "narrow" receiver that in turn shares multiple uses, we opted to paint the blank walls to make it look much bigger. A trick? If you want to raise the ceiling, paint the walls of white broken and the ceiling of pure white.
4. The more light, the more spacious
Do not cover the light inlet. If the clarity reaches the whole floor it will look bigger, the furniture clearer … Place the voluminous pieces arrimadas to the wall and distribute outward so that your house grows outward. And as long as you can, keep the curtains open and the shutters up. That's what we did in the living room, use the furniture necessary for the use of this family.
5. Custom furniture, your solution
On many occasions, the dimensions send, and we have no choice but to adapt the furniture to the space we have. For this reason, taking advantage of all the available space at home must be a priority. In this case, custom-made furniture is the perfect solution. We call them "rubber furniture", we do not refer to any strange pieces, but to furniture that adapt to the terrain they tread. In this room where the dining room shared space with the living room, and in turn with the kitchen, we designed a "reduced bottom" furniture to place the television. A perfect solution to free up the circulation pathways.
6. Think of cubic meters
Of course, there is no doubt: everyone needs space. and storage, of course, too. In reality, the space we occupy is three-dimensional; Therefore, clearing the interior space and-with the same gesture-solving the distribution and giving support to the stays, is essential. In this way, we took advantage of the features that the space gave us creating a loft in the hall, which the owners can use as a storage room, a very efficient resource. In the lounge we take advantage of this generous height to create a small loft as a library.
7. Take advantage of the passing areas
A corner in the hallway, under the staircase or a small distributor … Converts the passage zones into useful spaces. Think that if you have 2 m2 are enough for a reading corner, and that a wardrobe for the home clothes only needs 30 cm of background. Bet on creativity and resource optimization. The dark, unventilated pathways are usually wasted places.
This House does not have passage areas, these distribution spaces are incorporated into the rooms, without undermining the roads of circulation. A more compact and surface-adapted distribution with an open concept allowed us to optimize these passage zones, managing transitions and circulation flows with clarity and logic.
8. "Less is more"
In a few meters, less always means more. Don't fall for the mistake of filling your house with a lot of small furniture. You better have less, but big and the more versatile the better. In the face of the doubt, better a single generous couch than two little ones.
The ingenious solution we opted for in this bedroom was to create a headboard with plasterboard without subtracting space to the circulation pathways. Taking advantage of this resource, we integrate in the headboard an indirect illumination to highlight the original brick wall.
In addition, to take advantage of the space, we place a canapé to achieve greater storage capacity, this piece allows you to store many more things in a space that is almost always wasted. All this combined with a deco that relaxes and loads you with positive energy.
9. Lowers the presence of carpentry
Doors and Windows frame your house. It lowers its presence avoiding the darker tones. You can lacquer the doors in white: Its semi satin finish also reflects the light. In the windows, try to clear some dark profiles with clear curtains
10. Cabinets to the ceiling.
From 200 cm the upper part of the cabinets is more inaccessible. It as a luggage compartment or to store bulky and/or other seasoned items, such as quilts and blankets.
A wall with shelves. In this small room, we used a small corner that was given by a pillar, to use it with a very practical and economical solution, light and visible shelves, for a great bookshop. Remember, you have enough with a wall and 35 cm of background to create a mini-library.
