La Torre
Remodelling of a single family in between dividing walls.
90 m2
3 months
The need of turning a 150-years-old former fortified farmhouse located in La Torre neighbourhood into a wide, bright and warm home, adapted to family life, was the biggest priority for our beloved clients Alejandra & Pepe, who trusted us once again for a new project.
The challenge here was carring out a full remodelling in an old house who had not been worked on ever before, making changes in the primary allocation and getting over the risk of damaging the fragile original structures.
We were looking for a warm and bright result with it own personality. The use of wood, removing architectural barriers and decorations combining with Scandinavian details, were the main course of action of the new interior design.
The industrial essence has been left visible on purpose, with brick repaired walls in the main bedroom, all combined with an Scandinavian decoration that commands the space and Nordic furniture. Among those, wooden strips custom-made for the living room highlight themselves.
The kitchen acts as a link between all rooms, made using hydraulic pavement. As for the general pavement, we chose large scale porcelain that pretends to be wood and can be used in wet areas and terrace, to create visual unity.
The great living-dining room was opened to the terrace through a large window that works as a simple distance and allows to enjoy sunny days as an extension of the house itself.
Previous condition to remodelling.
